As I work towards completing my own game, I’ve been thinking a lot about finishing projects in general. I’ve noticed that there are a lot of really talented developers out there that have trouble finishing games. Truthfully, I’ve left a long trail of unfinished games in my wake… I think everyone has. Not every project is going to pan out, for whatever reason. But if you find yourself consistently backing out of game projects that have a lot of potential, it could be worth taking a step back and examining why this happens.

Beege will be giving a presentation about AndEngine http://andengine.org/ the Android game engine. He will give an overview of what it can do, show some sample code, and answer any questions.
Come to our monthly meetup of game developers. Bring any demo to show off your recent game development work (artwork, concepts, software, games, etc)
During the last meeting, we had an open call for demos. Three developers showed off the projects they were working on. Me (Christopher Cotton), Dan Ledford, and John Saba. I demoed the upcoming iPad game Spaceward Ho!
Dan showed off two games. One was a very neat RPG style game, where you had a set of characters and could attack various enemies with spells. You even had items you could use such as a Panini! The game showed quite a bit of promise. I look forward to when it is available to play test.

The other game Dan showed off was a Frogger type game, except for shopping. You had to maneuver your cart through the aisle and get to the checkout counter. Nice theme change on the original game.

The final developer was John Saba. He has made quite a bit of progress on the game he is working on. This was the game he showed off the previous meeting, but this time with real levels, graphics he drew, and some improved game play. The demo was pretty awesome and John ended up winning the demo night. Congrats to John on his demo!

Come join the Nashville Game Developers, as we attend ScoreCon 1. There will be many of us there.
